1. Who we are

SafeLegalAI is a research publication about AI in legal practice. It is published by Cognesio LLP in England and Wales. LegalAI Space is an affiliated product (an Omnizio LP product built by the same team at Cognesio LLP) for law-firm AI governance. That relationship is disclosed wherever it matters.

The site has three datasets: an incident tracker, a regulation tracker and a tools directory. We also publish articles that explain those records.

2. Not legal advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice. Reading it, using a dataset or emailing us does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Do not rely on our pages as a substitute for the official text, a court record, a regulator notice or advice on your own facts.

If a point affects a live matter, a client, a filing, a contract or a risk decision, check the primary document and take advice from a qualified professional.

3. Research method and AI use

SafeLegalAI is made with heavy AI assistance. AI helps monitor sources, extract structured facts, compare versions, draft summaries and prepare article drafts. AI does not decide what the law is, make findings about people or publish by itself.

The Cognesio LLP editorial team opens every linked primary source before publication where a record or article depends on it. The team verifies quotes, dates, names, status labels and cited figures, then signs off the record or article. For articles, a separate fact-check step re-tests claims against the sources before editorial review.

Our working rule is: the documents are the documents. Court judgments, regulator notices, statutes, guidance and vendor pages are the record. Our summaries are pointers to those documents, not replacements for them.

“Last checked” means the linked official documents for that record were reopened on that date and the status shown on the page was confirmed. It does not mean no later change exists. Known limits include coverage gaps, time lag, paywalled systems, unofficial translations and source pages that move or disappear.

4. Accuracy, currency and “as of” dates

We aim to be accurate and current, but legal and vendor materials change. Dates on pages matter. “As of” and “last checked” lines tell you when we verified a point. “Updated” means the record text or classification changed.

If an official source changes after our last check, the official source prevails. Archive copies may be used to explain what we saw at the time.

Provisional records. AI-researched country records marked provisional are leads, not findings, until the Cognesio LLP editorial team has re-opened every source and signed off the status. See what “provisional” means.

5. Third-party content and external links

External links open in a new tab. We link to courts, regulators, legislatures, vendors, archives and research bodies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, uptime, privacy practices or later edits.

Links to commercial websites may carry referral tags (utm parameters) so vendors can see traffic came from SafeLegalAI; links to courts, regulators and legislation never do.

We quote court judgments, regulator pages and vendor materials for reporting, verification and commentary. A link or quotation is not an endorsement.

Vendor names and logos are the property of their owners and are shown solely to identify the vendor's product. SafeLegalAI is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any listed vendor, except where a record is labelled an affiliated product. Facts are recorded from vendors' published pages; no ranking, rating or recommendation is implied.

6. Incident Tracker specifics

The Incident Tracker records findings, orders and public statements made by courts, tribunals and regulators. We do not make those findings. When named individuals appear, they appear because they are named in a public record or official publication.

A tracker entry may summarize allegations, findings, sanctions, referrals and later outcomes. The primary record controls. A person or organization named in a record may send a right-of-reply note, correction request or contextual update through the report page or to corrections@safelegalai.com. Where appropriate, we add a dated correction or contextual note.

7. Tools directory specifics

The tools directory is a facts register. It is not an endorsement, ranking or recommendation. Entries record facts published by vendors or named third parties: security documents, data-use terms, trust pages, pricing pages, accuracy evidence and incidents on the record.

Marketing claims are not treated as facts unless they state a concrete, checkable commitment. Vendors may request corrections by sending the public source they want us to check. LegalAI Space is listed with a permanent affiliated-product label as an affiliated product (an Omnizio LP product built by the same team at Cognesio LLP); it is not scored, ranked, compared or counted in directory totals.

8. Regulation tracker specifics

Regulation tracker labels are our editorial classification of official materials. “Binding”, “guidance”, “proposed”, “case law”, “none” and “unclear” help readers compare records, but the official text prevails.

Translations may be unofficial unless the source says otherwise. Cross-border rules can turn on facts we cannot know from the document alone.

9. Maps and boundaries

Map boundaries are drawn from Natural Earth’s Admin-0 dataset in its India point-of-view edition, with Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh drawn within India. The regulatory map is an index to our records, not a statement by Cognesio LLP on sovereignty, borders, legal status or recognition.

Country and territory naming follows ISO 3166 short names except where a jurisdiction’s own official name is used for clarity. Send boundary or naming concerns through the report page and choose “Map boundaries”.

10. Intellectual property and licence

Our datasets are available under CC BY 4.0. You may reuse them with attribution to SafeLegalAI and a link to the relevant record or dataset.

Articles, page text and site design are © Cognesio LLP unless a page says otherwise. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, this site and its datasets are provided without warranties. We are not liable for loss caused by reliance on the site, missed updates, source errors, third-party content, consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or business interruption.

12. Corrections and complaints

Use the report page for corrections, tips, map concerns and rights of reply. You can also email corrections to corrections@safelegalai.com, legal notices to legal@safelegalai.com, and tips to tips@safelegalai.com. Please include the page URL, the disputed text, the source you rely on and the change you request.

13. Governing law

These terms and any dispute about this site are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that cannot be excluded.

14. Changes to this page

Personal data is covered separately in our privacy notice. We update this page when our ownership, methods, licence or terms change. The date at the top shows the current version.
