Ireland's Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Act 2026, enacted 21 July 2026, gives national effect to the EU AI Act and commences by ministerial order; none was found on 11 September 2026. What the document requires
- Section 8 establishes Oifig IS na hÉireann as a statutory body to perform functions under the Act.
- Section 9 requires the Office to coordinate competent authorities, support joint enforcement, promote AI literacy and provide expertise.
