What the public documentation states
LegalZoom pages describe Doc Assist as an AI document-summary service for English-language contracts and other documents, intended for use within the United States. The AI page also lists a wider MCP catalog, while the site notice says LegalZoom is not a law firm and provides attorney access and self-service tools. The Doc Assist page says uploaded originals are stored in LegalZoom's secure documents center and summaries are stored in a secure LegalZoom account. It also says information provided through Doc Assist may be used to improve product performance, including training LegalZoom proprietary AI models, but not third-party AI tools or services. The privacy policy was updated 9 July 2026 and the terms of use were updated 21 April 2026; the AI additional terms show 16 December 2024. The security page states that sensitive information is encrypted and that MFA is available. No public certification or data-residency statement was found. Doc Assist is free up to 10 summaries per day, and LLC formation prices are published. The Doc Assist page warns that results may be incomplete or inaccurate; no accuracy method was published.
