Guidance Statement No. 37 from the Queensland Law Society, issued 31 May 2024, applies the Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules to solicitors' use of AI. It is permissive with cautions: solicitors must be competent in the tools they use, protect confidentiality, verify output before reliance, supervise staff use, and consider whether to inform clients about AI use.
