Brazil's first judicial AI framework, issued 21 August 2020, set principles of transparency, non-discrimination, human supervision and accountability for AI models developed or used by courts, required registration on the Sinapses platform, and barred AI-based criminal sentencing recommendations. It was replaced by Resolution 615/2025, which took effect on 14 July 2025.
