Italy's national AI framework law, in force 10 October 2025 and read in conformity with the EU AI Act. Article 13 confines AI in the intellectual professions to support tasks and requires clients to be told in clear language which AI systems a professional uses. Article 15 reserves every judicial decision to the magistrate.

What the document requires
- Art. 13(1): AI in intellectual professions only for instrumental and support activities, with prevalence of the professional's intellectual work.
- Art. 13(2): information on the AI systems used must be communicated to the client in clear, simple and exhaustive language.
- Art. 15(1): decisions on interpretation and application of law, evaluation of facts and evidence and adoption of measures are always reserved to the magistrate.
- Art. 15(2)-(3): Ministry of Justice regulates and, pending full AI Act application, authorises AI experimentation and use in ordinary judicial offices after consulting AgID and ACN.
- Art. 15(4): the Minister of Justice promotes AI training for magistrates and administrative staff.
- Art. 20: AgID and ACN designated as national AI authorities.
